The Phonetic Alphabet is used in many different domains, but in short, it’s a standard list of words to represent all the letters of the alphabet in order to remove any ambiguity about them.
Think of when you’re on the phone with a customer rep and you’re trying to tell them a series of letters. Most people go, “A is for Alexander, B is for Bouncy Castle, etc.” and just make up whatever comes to mind. But did you know there’s an official list of words?
Here is how to memorize the ACTUAL list (the one officially used by pilots, for example).
Also, this video is a bit of insight into how I memorize things on the fly. You’ll see me learn the Phonetic Alphabet in real time. Enjoy!
