Video Takeaways

Day 6 – Dingboche (14,295 ft) // (Bright Star Lodge)
Today starts off super cold since we’re in the middle of the valley and the sun won’t hit till later, so bundle up. We start off gently downhill, crossing the valley floor and then it’s all uphill. You’ll get some beautiful views of Ama Dablam and some of the other Himalayan giants, so it’s worth it. It’s a short day, and once you hike to the top of the hill, it levels off as you enter into Dingboche where you’re literally surrounded by the mega-peaks of the Himalayas. It’s stunning. The village is at a high elevation, so we’ll be taking two nights here and doing some great acclimatization hikes. Dingboche has some great bakeries and phenomenal french fries (they grow some delicious potatoes here). I’d say about here in the trip is where rooms get pretty basic. But no worries, getting inside your warm sleeping bag has never been cozier. And we’ll drink some Sherpa whiskey before bed to warm ourselves up 😉
